Racing FX Prelude Race Day And Beer Festival At Market Rasen

After weeks of planning, organisation and excitement, The Racing FX Prelude Race Day and Beer Festival took place at Market Rasen on Saturday, to mark the official start of the National Hunt Season. With two Grade One races to look forward to and the sun shining down brightly, the Lincolnshire crowd was in great spirits as the day got underway.

John Ferguson's Leoncavello, ridden by Aidan Colman kicked proceedings in convincing fashion with a win in the Juvenile Hurdle, but it was the second and third races that the crowd could wait to see.

The Racing FX Prelude Chase was won by Cloonacool, who was ridden to victory by the excellent Paddy Brennan, in what was a very competitive race, which included horses from Dan Skelton, Nigel Twiston-Davies and Peter Fahey's yards. In The Racing FX Prelude Chase, which was another competitive race, run over 2 miles and 5 furlongs, Oscar Rock proved his class with a win, and now looks set to compete for the Paddy Power in November, after defeating the Jonjo O'Neil trained Gray Hession andPaul Nicholls' Valco De Touzaie. Oscar Rock travelled well throughout the race and jumped excellently and seemed to enjoy the ground as he went, earning the victory for Malcolm Jefferson and Brian Hughes. Other winners on the day included Forever My Friend, ridden by Sean Bowen and Veins Charger who won the Racing FX Online Novices Hurdle.

We were delighted to have race horse owner Rich Ricci with us for the day, who enjoyed his first visit to Market Rasen Race Course and helped present the prizes to the winners throughout the day. Overall, the Racing FX Prelude Race Day and Beer Festival was a complete success and we're now eagerly anticipating more National Hut action as we move into the Autumn and Winter months. Be sure to keep an eye out for more of our Sponsored races at Jockey Club Courses throughout the year.
